A Fall Season of Service, Spooky Fun, and Community Spirit at BGCGNH

Nov 23, 2025 | Featured, News

Fall was full of energy, creativity, and community across all our Club sites — from Wallingford to North Haven to New Haven. Our members embraced the season with service projects, pumpkin decorating, Halloween celebrations, and leadership-driven events that showcased the heart of our Clubs. Here’s a look back at the moments that made this fall unforgettable.

Giving Back at the Trail of Terror

This October, our Wallingford Torch Club — the Ulbrich Community Builders — rolled up their sleeves to support a longtime friend of the Club: Wayne, owner of the Trail of Terror.

Our teens spent the day raking leaves and helping clean up the grounds as a way to thank Wayne for his continued generosity to the community. Their hard work was met with an incredible surprise — VIP tickets to experience the Trail themselves!

It was a perfect blend of spooky fun, teamwork, and service, reminding us that when our youth give back, the impact is felt everywhere.

Pumpkins, Creativity & a Community That Cares

Thanks to a generous donation of 30 pumpkins from Beaumont Farm, our Club members across sites got to dive into seasonal creativity with pumpkin carving and painting.

A special thank-you goes to Diane Tourangeau, a dedicated Club parent whose kindness made the connection possible — and who even picked up and delivered the pumpkins herself.

New Haven’s Spooky Harvest Celebration

The New Haven Clubhouse transformed into a Halloween playground at this year’s Spooky Harvest Celebration!

Our members jumped into donut-eating contests, mummy wrapping, cookie decorating, candy prizes, and more — all thanks to generous support from:

  • Mondelēz International
  • Board Member Fallon Thomas from New Haven Hiring Initiative
  • Angel Silva, longtime gym partner

Their contributions helped create a fun, joy-filled afternoon that celebrated both Halloween and community spirit.

Halloween Across the Ulbrich–North Haven Sites

Halloween magic filled every corner of our Ulbrich–North Haven locations — Ridge Road, Green Acres, Clintonville, Montowese, and North Haven Middle School!

Kids showed off incredible costumes, took part in spooky crafts and games, and of course, enjoyed plenty of candy. Our staff and volunteers went above and beyond to make each celebration fun, safe, and memorable.

Ulbrich–Wallingford’s Costume Fun & Pumpkin Art

At the Ulbrich–Wallingford Clubhouse, the celebration continued with costume parades, pumpkin painting and carving, themed gym activities, and festive games. From superheroes and skeletons to sharks and dinosaurs — the creativity was endless, and the smiles were even bigger!

Scary Night at the New Haven Clubhouse

Our Torch Club Legends and Keystone Top-Notchers took the lead this fall by hosting Scary Night — a member-run fright walk filled with jump scares, fog, strobe lights, and Halloween thrills.

With $5 admission and free candy, the event not only delivered spooky fun but also supported our leadership programs and youth development activities. We’re incredibly proud of these young leaders for planning, promoting, and executing such a successful Halloween event.

A Season to Remember

From community service and leadership projects to Halloween festivities and fall creativity, this season showcased everything we love about the Clubs: connection, growth, teamwork, and joy.

Thank you to our staff, families, partners, and volunteers who helped make this fall unforgettable for our members. We can’t wait to see what winter brings! If you’d like to see even more photos from this fall season, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram.
